A few years ago around 1998, I started taking notes and writing short reviews of books as I read them. As many of the older books didn’t have index's, I found it useful to make a note of people’s names and events that may be important and those in which I found of interest.
The majority of books that I’ve read before I started keeping notes were mainly centered on the Indian Wars and Custer. Since then I my focus changes fairly often, but always remains fixed on Western Americana.
While this list contains many books that are enjoyable and exciting, there are also many that may seem boring to some readers. Some read like textbooks, while others are so exciting that you won’t put them down.
