A better than good copy. 471 pages, frontis, photos, original cloth with heavy spotting to covers, new spine with original laid down, new end-papers, (looks like the spotting was darkened when repaired. Interior in very good condition. There are several pages which have notes and comments adding information. It appears that the person making the comments was a relative of the Terrells. A scarce item in the first edition as Ive only seen a few copies of this book and all were in terrible condition. This is the nicest copy Ive seen (obviously due to the repairs.) Much on pioneers, settlers, Indian problems, war, etc. Rare item. Herd 431, Howes C238, Rader 627.
