Original slipcase, 350 pages, frontis, photos, maps. LIMITED EDITION, #35 of 150 copies, gilt on spine fading as usual, The Fort Stockton Edition, specially printed, boxed and signed May 20, 1966. SIGNED by Myres (editor,) C. L. Sonnichsen (the introduction,) Jose Cisneros (the artist,) Clayton Williams (the researcher,) and Carl Hertzog (designer and producer.) Introduction by C. L. Sonnichen, drawings by Jose Cisneros. This copy has Carl Hertzogs bookplate on the front end-paper. Laid in is a dust jacket from the trade edition and a program for the celebration of the writings of O.W. Williams 1966. Williams worked as a surveyor across the High Plains of Texas, worked in mines in New Mexico, and covered the lower reaches of the Big Bend of Texas during the eventful period of 1877-1902.
